About Our District

The Central Community School System is located in the City of Central, Louisiana. Central is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. At the present time, the school system is the fastest growing school system in the state. Since May 2007, our enrollment has increased from 2,500 students to an expected 3,800 students this 2009-10 school year.

The students of Central achieved a high level of performance on the state's accountability tests in the Spring. Eighty-eight percent of the students in fourth grade and eighty-one percent of eighth graders met promotional standards on state accountability tests. Both the 4th and 8th grades' percentages of students meeting promotional standards were about 13% higher than students statewide.

Our Vision

Develop a learning community that is focused on student learning where all stakeholders unite together to:
Embrace and value relationships with students, parents, and the community
Challenge and motivate students with a rigorous, relevant, engaging instructional program
Develop the personal skills the students will need to succeed in the 21st Century
